  • Introduction

    This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to contribute to WHS risk management, which includes the processes for identifying work health and safety (WHS) hazards and assessing and controlling the risk relating to those identified hazards.

    It involves contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of risk controls according to legislative and organisational requirements.

    The unit applies to those working in a broad range of roles across all industries. WHS hazard identification and risk control processes are those defined in written workplace procedures.

    • Access information and data used to identify hazards, and to assess and control risks
    • Contribute to identifying risk management requirements and compliance
    • Contribute to workplace hazard identification
    • Contribute to WHS risk assessment
    • Contribute to developing and implementing risk controls
    • Contribute to evaluating effectiveness of risk controls.

    Each section provides learning materials and activities that you are required to read and complete prior to attempting any of the quizzes. There may be one or two learning materials to read depending upon each section of the course. You cannot progress through the course to the quizzes until you complete each page or activity within the learning materials.  The reason for this is to provide you with the best chance of successfully completing all assessments.
